Article 1 - What cookies are

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit https://smartrepair.eu. They remember, for example, that you are signed in, which language you chose, or what is in your order.

Alongside cookies we use comparable techniques such as local storage in your browser. Where this policy says cookies, those techniques are included.

This policy accompanies our privacy policy and describes which cookies we place and why. What happens to the data arising from them is set out in the privacy policy.

The controller is Datarecuperatie BV, trading under the commercial name SmartRepair.

Article 2 - Your choice

On your first visit we ask for your choice. We always place necessary cookies; all others only after you have agreed.

Refusing is as easy as accepting. If you choose nothing, we place only the necessary cookies.

You can change or withdraw your choice at any time through the cookie settings at the bottom of every page. Withdrawal takes effect for the future and does not affect what happened beforehand with your consent.

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser. If you block the necessary cookies, the site will not work properly.

Article 3 - Necessary cookies

These cookies are required for the site to work and are placed without consent.

They remember your session, protect forms against misuse, and store your cookie choice itself. That last one is unavoidable: without a cookie we cannot remember that you refused cookies.

These cookies are placed by us, stay within our own systems, and are not used to track you.

Article 4 - Functional cookies

These cookies remember your preferences and make the site more pleasant to use, without being strictly necessary. We place them only after your consent.

They cover your language choice and, in our shop, the kiosk mode of the screen you are using.

If you refuse these cookies the site keeps working; you may simply have to choose your language more often.

Article 5 - Analytics cookies

Analytics cookies count visits and show us which pages are used, so that we can improve the site. We place them only after your consent.

Where we use Google Analytics for this, we do so with IP anonymisation, without advertising features, without sharing data with Google for product improvement, and with a fourteen-month retention period for user data. The script is loaded only after you have given consent, not before.

Google processes data in this context that may also be processed in the United States. Article 6 describes the basis on which that transfer takes place.

If you refuse these cookies nothing changes about how the site works; we simply do not count your visit.

The overview accompanying this policy shows which analytics cookies are actually placed at present. If the list is empty, we are not using any today.

Article 6 - Third-party cookies and transfers

Some cookies are placed by parties we engage. They may use the data solely for the task we give them.

Where a transfer takes place to a country outside the European Economic Area, it is based on an adequacy decision of the European Commission or on the standard contractual clauses, supplemented by whatever measures the specific case requires.

On request we will provide information about the safeguards applying to a particular transfer.

We place no advertising cookies and sell no data to advertisers or data brokers.

Article 7 - Retention

Cookies disappear either when you close your browser or after a fixed period. The overview accompanying this policy states the period for each cookie.

We keep your cookie choice itself for one year, so that we do not have to ask again on every visit. After that we ask again.

You can also delete cookies earlier yourself through your browser settings.

Article 8 - Changes and contact

This policy carries a version number and a date. We update it whenever we add or remove a cookie or a service.

If we add a category that requires your consent, we ask for it again; your earlier choice does not cover something you could not have judged at the time.
